About Dr. Burock

Marc Burock M.D. is a psychiatrist who, although raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, received training and education from coast-to-coast and abroad.

Dr. Burock earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, after which he completed psychiatric training at the University of California, Los Angeles—the top psychiatric hospital on the west coast—and its accredited Semel Institute Residency Training program. There, he was the chief resident of the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at UCLA and completed training programs in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy. Additionally, Dr. Burock became experienced in psychoanalytic talk therapy and was a fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

Dr Burock is also an experienced researcher of brain function. Prior to medical school, Dr. Burock studied biomedical engineering at Boston University and electrical engineering as a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He began researching animal brain function in college, and continued in graduate school, making significant contributions to functional brain imaging. He received research awards including the Athina-Martinos Research Award, Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Award, and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine stipend award. He was also awarded and completed a scholarship studying brain-imaging in Nagoya, Japan.
