Smoking

If you smoke, then stopping is the best medical treatment money can buy. Dr. Burock has trained at the UCLA/VA Smoking Disorders clinic to help life-long smokers quit. Call to schedule an appointment.

You may already know that:

  • Smoking will cut 2.5 to 10 years off your life.
  • Smoking a pack a day doubles your chances of a heart-attack.
  • Smokers are 13 to 23 times more likely to get lung cancer.
  • Male smokers are up to 26 times more likely to have erectile dysfunction.

Pennsylvania’s Free Quitline, 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669), is offered as a partnership between the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the American Cancer Society. Call to begin treatment over the phone, or visit the website to find a counselor near you.

Pfizer sponsors a free web-based program (GET QUIT) to smokers attempting to quit with the medication Chantix. People taking Chantix can enroll online at www.chantix.com or call 1-877-CHANTIX
